Hollyhocks Florist is a family run florist shop based in Ipplepen just outside Newton Abbot in South Devon. Hollyhocks was established in 2012 and specialises in wedding and event flowers across the South West.
With over a decade of experience and more than 300 weddings under our belt, we pride ourselves in what we offer for our couples on their special day. We love to build a good relationship with our clients and feel you are getting a personal experience with a family run business. We are recommended suppliers for many of the local venues and have extensive knowledge of some of the most popular venues.
We are a family business and the team consists of two sisters and their mum! Holly, Ellen and Julie run the shop 7 days a week offering a personal and friendly service, and quality fresh stock all year round.
Hollyhocks offers local deliveries of flowers which are made with love and delivered personally with a smile. We also offer a click and collect service where you can pre-order your special flowers and we will have it ready for you at a time and date to suit.
Meet the Family
Holly heads the team with her career starting in floristry back in 2008. She has gained her floristry City and Guilds qualifications up to level 4 and has built up a huge experience in all aspects of the job being trained by some of the countries best florists in the beginning.
Holly is the wedding specialist and who you will meet for your first consultations, where she can offer all her ideas and expertise to design something extraordinary for your special day. She also does all the ordering of stock, plans all the events and peak trading periods throughout the year and arranges our training workshops.
Ellen is Holly’s sister and between them, own the business together. Ellen has trained with Holly over 6 years of having the shop and deals with the shop side of the business making beautiful bouquets and arrangements for our display and for orders placed.
Ellen is our logistics coordinator, where she plans our peak period delivery routes and wedding deliveries that are time sensitive. She also deals with a huge part of the business and accounts side of the shop behind the scenes.
Julie is the Mum, looking after her girls and keeps them going with moral support and a cracking cup of tea. Julie runs the shop on a Sunday and Saturday afternoon, where you will find her prepping things for the shop whether it’s cello wraps and bows or wedding boxes and labels. You won’t get much out of her at 10.30am when Ken Bruce hosts pop master, but other than that you will always find a happy smiley face to greet you.
