Wedding Flowers- Shilstone House Devon - Behind the Scenes
Behind the scenes is something we don’t always show and we’re not sure why as it’s usually messy, tiresome but a whole lot of fun and something we should show more frequently in our journey.
Wedding flower set ups are often over looked when you see the final polished beautiful images looking back to the big day so we hired a photographer Mrs Jutson to come along and document it all.
We arrived at Shilstone House on the Saturday morning for the wedding set up of Gio and Dan, with three of us to get it all down to the marquee and barn and set up in the hour and a half window we had to work with. Tables were clothed and ready to go and the wonderful Lucy, Jo and staff at Shilstone were on hand to lower the pulley system for us to install the hoop for the focal point of the marquee.
Some of the start of the set up........
The arrangements were bigger than El!
It’s always a team effort on big set ups like this.
Precision placements....
Usually Holly to do the placing as she has the longest arms and sometimes it’s quite a stretch!
Tables all set, it was time to install the hanging hoop installation and Lucy lowered the hanging rope for us to install. We carried it in with one of us inside it as it was huge, and made it easier to hold with most of the flowers on it. We didn’t have a huge window for installation time so pre made most of it to save time.
So the hoop was installed and now for Louise to capture the room all finished! We cleared up and after the staff laid the tables we cleared out of the room to get the perfect room shots.
So that was our job done, Shilstone looking glorious and our florals making quite the impression in the stunning Mughal marquee.
Louise captured our set up beautifully and we thought it should be documented to show what goes into these large set ups and the amount of work it takes with a team of us doing it.
We hope you loved our first proper blog, please comment on the bottom of this page and let us know your thoughts, and more importantly share this to spread the floral love.
