Summer Weddings at Kingston Estate

Summer is almost over, but the weddings have been so magical this year!

We have been so lucky to work at Kingston Estate in South Devon many times over the years and this year I think is a record for the amount of couples we've been lucky enough to work with at such a beautiful venue so close to us. We first did the florals there back in 2013, way back when they first started doing weddings and my goodness how the site has changed over the last decade. From changing the long barn from an open barn to have drinks in of an evening, it's now a stunning wet weather option for your ceremony and with its exposed walls and chandeliers it really is magical. We have seen the extra accommodation built to the west of the main house and the clear span marquee used in the rose garden.

Kingston Estate has many places you can put flowers, but if you are clever enough you can make the most out of re using your florals to get maximum usage without over spending and wasting money where it isn't needed. You can have a ceremony arch on the pergola in the walled garden and move it to the reception space whether it's next door under the marquee, or over to the hayloft barn. Most arch's we create out of flowers and foliage are easily moved and are usually front facing so would be best put against a wall or in front of the bar. You can opt to have freestanding pedestal arrangements which can be moved twice if you want, as they are modular and come as separate pieces. Aisle flowers can be transferred to the table centres and topped up with some little single stem vases for added colour and texture. Aisle markers are amazing placed in front of the top table or at the end of the banquet style trestle table set up, framing the space beautifully and adding that focal point as you walk in for the wedding breakfast.

To ensure the flowers are utilised well and things are placed at the time needed we usually either stay on site until after the ceremony or come back to move flowers rather than leave them early in the day and hope for the best . This allows us to plan for the weather and make sure the flowers are perfect and well hydrated.
